SHORT SUMMARY (The Nest)

"The Nest" is a short story written by Robert Zacks. It revolves around a boy named Jimmy who wants to go hiking with his friend Paul, but his mother, Ms. Swanson, won't allow him to do so. The story explores Jimmy's journey of overcoming obstacles and finding his true identity despite the expectations and demands of his parents

 The theme of the story “The Nest” is “growing up involves learning to make your own decisions. Throughout the story Jimmy makes his own decisions and goes against his parents’ wishes. In the end Jimmy’s mother admits to Jimmy she was wrong and that he had done “the right thing at the right time.
